Rated 5 out of 5 by from Federal Makes Some Of The Best Ammo Let me say I have no affiliation with Federal. As a former firearms instructor for a large So. Cal. law enforcement agency I have quite a bit of experience shooting ammunition from the top four U.S. ammunition manufactures. During my time as a trainer I witnessed hundreds of thousands of rounds launched down range. The agency itself purchased six million rounds of practice 9mm ammo each year. On top of those numbers we purchased hundreds of thousands of rounds of both 12 ga shotgun and .223 rounds. Needless to say, I've seen both great quality control and substandard quality control when it comes to ammunition. While I won't call out the poor quality manufactures by name, I will say that in ten years I witnessed absolutely zero defects in ammunition produced by Federal. Some of the defects that I have seen in new factory production ammunition is as follows: Loose bullets or projectiles that were not crimped, bullets loaded backwards, primers loaded backwards, primers loaded sideways, bad lot of ammunition with defective primers, base of shotgun shells damaged, front crimp on shotgun shells defective, wrong bullets packaged in unopened rifle bullet boxes, and questionable powder compounds that caused facial burns when shooting. Of all the defects that I've seen, not once was Federal the manufacture of any of the defective ammunition. This brings me to my personal choice in ammunition. I am an avid hunter. I hunt with many different calibers. My sole source of hunting ammunition is Federal. Based on my experience with ammunition, I believe Federal makes the absolute best ammunition available. I have been hunting with Federal ammunition now for 30 years and it has never let me down. There is another company based out of Lewiston, Idaho that makes equally impressive ammunition, but this review is about Federal. Good luck in the field. If you're reading this review you likely already know Federal makes great ammunition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from antelope hunt Oregon I used 150 grain fusion bullet for my antelope hunt. 250 yard shot. I missed the heart and hit back a foot below spine but hit the liver and the bullet didn't go through animal, bullet missed the guts, thank goodness, but the damage still effected the lungs the animal walk 50 feet and dropped dead. 30-06 American Ruger rifle. I'm going bump up to 180 grain for ELK.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very RELIABLE economic premium rounds I had been using Remington core lokts in my 2015 Winchester 70, and wanted to get some more premium ammo for it. I bought a box of Ballistic Silvertips, and had two missfires in a box of 20. It costed me $30 too, I was headed to the range and stopped to pick up a box of ammo and this was all they had, at $24 after tax. I did a test group at 100 and it was .5". Best group so far out of the gun, and it doesn't even like most 150 grain ammo! Hopefully I can get some heavier bullets and see how well the group. Very accurate and not a single missfire, and the brass is much better for reloading as I'm told by my brother who I give the brass too than any other stuff this cheap. Couldn't believe the accuracy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Cartridge I've been using Ballistic Tip Ammunition for several years and having problems with the bullet passing through or breaking up. I used this cartridge for the first time this year and had great success. I sighted my 30-06 for zero at 100 yards. I ended up taking a shot of 180 yards. This bullet provided excellent penetration and was extremely effective at taking down a white tail deer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bullet! I've used this bullet since 2008 and I must say I love the performance of it. It works flawlessly, short range and long range. If you can hold the crosshairs on the game, and you're zeroed right, the bullet will amaze you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value and Accuracy I sighted in my Savage 111 Trophy Hunter XP in 30-06 with 150gr. Fusion. This ammo was only $25.99 which is pretty cheap for an accurate bonded ammo. My only test group was a 3/4 in. group. I only gave it 4 stars because I haven't shot an animal with it yet.
