Syntech Action Pistol

Syntech Action Pistol

Part #: AE9SJAP1

Shooters who compete at the highest levels need ammunition built for the demands of their discipline. Syntech® Action Pistol is specifically designed for the action shooting sports and loaded to power factor requirements with heavy, flatter-nosed bullets for more reliable knock-downs on steel targets in competition. Like all Syntech loads, they feature the exclusive Total Synthetic Jacket (TSJ™), which prevents metal-on-metal contact between the bullet and barrel, eliminating copper and lead fouling as well as reducing damaging heat and friction. Combined with clean-burning powders and the Catalyst™ lead-free primer, Syntech Action Pistol provides the softest-shooting and most reliable performance possible for high-volume competitive shooters.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the low recoil I bought this to use in my HK VP9. I had used the 124 and 147 grain Syntech and it worked great. But, this 150 grain Syntech does not work in my VP9. Every, and I mean every round stovepiped. I sold the remaining 975 rounds I had to a friend with a SIG P320 and it works great in his pistol. I am gaining no on the recommendation, but only for the VP9. Just buy one box and test it before you purchase a larger quantity.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice recoil impulse, but iffy primer ignition I’m a Master-level IDPA shooter. I started using this round with the 150 gr bullet about a year ago. I’ve been impressed with the low recoil impulse, which facilitates rapid follow-up shots. I was willing to pay a little more for this as “match” ammo for the increased performance potential - BUT - I’ve had 8 failures to ignite in the last 500 rounds. Most were during matches, and one was in a major match with a disappearing target - the “click” instead of “bang” cost me a lot of points. This is the ONLY ammo that my gun has had this issue with. Sadly, I think I’ll relegate the rest of my stock of Syntech to practice, and go back to reloads with WSP primers for reliable ignition. It’s sad, as Federal is generally known for soft primers, but it seems that these “special” lead-free primers on the Syntech are a different animal. If these would reliably go bang, I’d be buying thousands of rounds every year for competition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Competition Ammo Available! It has been so hard to find the Federal Syntech ammo up until this point, and now I know why. Others have found out how good this stuff was and probably have been hoarding it, lol. I was finally able to put some through my Sig P320 X-Five at a Steel Challenge match this past weekends. I have to say, believe the hype! This stuff is amazing! Recoil was so low, I thought I was shooting a .22 Get some Federal Syntech 150gr 9mm ammo and see what you’ve been missing, you won’t be disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Accurate and clean but didn’t work well in my G17 I bought this ammo for a GSSF match and tested a box of 50 before the match to ensure proper function. Everything worked as advertised at that time. At the actual match though, I had 3 failures to feed, and took my Glock 17 to the on site certified armorer for inspection. After he confirmed that there was no issue with my G17 and magazines, he recommended switching ammunition. I ended up shooting the rest of the match with my American Eagle 147 grain FMJ backup ammo. The Syntech ammo is a cool concept and when it performs, it does exactly as advertised. Just make sure you field test a bunch of them before you compete to make sure they work well with your gun.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great ammo for most firearms. So I used this ammo for a couple matches and found it to shoot awesome the feel was great flat and soft. I shoot a cz tac sport orange and can say that I had feed failures that no other ammo has ever done like never once. After about 75 rounds they stop cycling perfectly. I luckily took other rounds and saved my competition and they ran 100%. I've shot 147 flat nose un-coated rounds with no problem. For whatever reason the flat nose on these are catching my feed ramp and not pushing forward and chambering. I have friends with non cz's and run perfectly. Anyways it's pretty clean and shoots awesome when it works so as of now I rate it top of the line untill I can find the actual problem. I'll update when I know but if your shooting cz stay away.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Ammo But Pricey !!! Shoots soft and is accurate. I really like this ammo but it is waaay to expensive. If the price comes down I think a lot of shooters will stop reloading and use this. But until the price comes down, I'll keep reloading my 147Gr with N320. Too bad cuz I really like this ammo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Checks all the right boxes I switched to exclusively shooting Syntech 150 grain for my 2018 major matches, and have no intention of looking back. Out of my Automatic Accuracy Shadow 2s, this ammo is boringly accurate, notably clean, reliable, and precisely meets 135 power factor. I spend too much time, money, and effort on this sport to worry about ammo issues; with Syntech, I don't have to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New favorite Very soft felt recoil when using this round. No Malfunctions of any kind through about 2k rounds.
