After 40 years of carrying, I have found this to be the most reliable round. 100% expansion,consistent and effective. The 150GR is not as good and gave my compact some issues in accuracy and impact.

My ONLY Carry Ammo
I can’t speak highly enough of the HST defensive carry round from Federal Premium! This has been my only choice for a personal defense round for the past three years. I have never had a malfunction or issue out of my Glock nor my M&P while shooting HST’s or even their hard ball ammo for that fact. Seeing the consistent expansion of these rounds had me sold from the beginning. I know they are going to fire and do their job every single time. That is why I trust my life to these rounds each and every day. If you haven’t tried these rounds yet, go grab a couple of boxes, test them in your carry gun and start carrying them. The best I ever used
Heard so much about these rounds and decided to give them a try. Very impressive accuracy and shootability. After years of using a well known product I did not expect such a significant increase in performance. Also, very reliable in a finicky classic pistol.

Dependable and accurate
As a law enforcement officer, I have carried Federal ammo for years on and off duty. I feel safe knowing that the ammo we carry for duty use will work. We carry HST in our 40s and 45 cal. because it is reliable. As a police officer in Alaska, regardless of the temp outside, the ammo works.

A top choice ammunition for a 3" barrel.
Bought this 9mm standard pressure HST for my Kahr CM9. Perfect defense ammunition for a 3" barrel using the 124 grain. PERFECT BALLISTIC TESTS. I have not tried the 147 or 150 grain micro because these 124 grains work perfect.

EDC in my EAA SAR B6P
My home defense and EDC gun is an EAA SAR B6P polymer framed 9mm. The gun is not rated for +P loads and I wanted a dependable load I could count on to stop a threat with proper expansion and minimal over penetration. I chose the Federal 124 grain HST rounds because they seem the best all around choice for my purposes. No matter what the weather or what clothing my attacker might be wearing, I feel confident that these will reliably and consistently penetrate and expand as designed, ending the threat to me or my family.

My 40+ Years Experience Agrees ...
Thank you for your HST loads.
I've become very cynical of the Ammunition Manufacturers claiming that their latest and greatest is better than any other in the marketplace, only to pay the price to find out they don't know Federal Premium Ammunition.
My favorite EDC is a S&W Mod.59 built during Nixon's administration. Fearful that today's hotter loads might damage her, I did as I often tell others, "Go with what you know." In doing so not only has the HST cartridge been kind to her but feels as if it has a lighter felt recoil than the others of the same bullets weight and even some with 115gr bullets. This has assisted my times in target reacquisition as well as bullet placement during double tap drills.
Of course I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the diameter of our retrieved bullets and weight retention. Through the poor man's soaked newsprint medium stacked in an apple crate, we retrieved them to measure the expansion at a median of 10 shots right at 0.74" from a 4.25" barrel with nearly 98% retained weight as a few petals of the jacket were lost in our medium.
Overall, I will not be returning to to the "Other" ammunition some of my LEO buddies use and will remain faithful, as I have with your 165gr. Low Recoil JHP cartridge I carry in my heirloom Colt's Mfg Combat Commander Classic Stainless Custom Bar-B-Q Gun.
