Nearly Perfect 38+P for the Snub
This is the most accurate ammo I have ever fired from my S&W 442. The point of impact also happens to be exactly where the sights place the shot with a center of target picture (the sights go in the middle of where you want them to hit). Outstanding consistency. I observed about 20 FPS extreme spread over a 20 round box (which is opened by squeezing the narrow ends). The velocity was lower than listed...average around 835 FPS. This makes for a rather mild shooting round; much easier to shoot than 158 grain LSWCHPs. Surprisingly, these deep seated bullets are not much harder to use with a speed loader or speed strip, mostly because they are shorter. This shortness also happens to help them fit in a pocket more easily. I would like to see Federal put more of a taper on the front of the case, as this would assist in using speedloaders/speedstrips. The massive hollowpoint is about as large as possible for a .357 diameter bullet. That combined with good jacket design and proper bullet alloy selection has produced unmatched performance in ballistic gelatin testing. They are incredibly expensive. It would behoove Federal to produce a ballistically matched low-cost practice loading to accompany this, perhaps using a swaged lead wadcutter so reloading practice would be analogous.

I can't tell...
Hard to review this ammunition... Because I can't get the box open? I went so far as to read the book opening instructions on the back and finally pried it open, but now I can't get it open again. Maybe a hammer, but that would ruin the handsome box. I'm seriously glad that I didn't have an urgent need to get to these rounds.

110 grain hydrashok is more effective for 38
First of all I am a huge fan of the HST.
My go to self defense round for 9mm.
However this round is a little on the weak side for 38cal. Even though it is rated as a +p round I can barely get over 800fps out of it.
I seem to shoot the low recoil 110grain hydrashok better out of my 2" stubby!
Recoil is about the same. The hydrashok is faster and punches through better in my experience.

Much slower than advertised
I chrono’d this load at barely 800 fps not the advertised 890.

Great
I purchased a number of boxes and had fun with them. I used them in my S&W Model 10 3 inch and My Taurus 605 and i am happy. Great recoil, deep wound channel, low flash.

Accurate
Very accurate out of my Ruger LCR 38. One gel test on Youtube so far, looks good. Now carrying in the LCR.
